15/05/2012 No “Hope” for Slow Pete but “Ashby is on” After speaking to the Land Owner at Hope Under Dinmore last night he said although it has dried up considerably there were still areas that were still lying really wet especially the wooded areas and the fields near the streams also the entrance and exit to the parking field is very boggy So it was decided by both parties to postpone the event for another couple of weeks until the Bank Holiday Weekend being the 3^rd June This will allow these areas to dry out and not cause unnecessary damage – assuming we do not have a repeat of the recent bad weather We will now be running this weekend at Ashby Moto Park which was cancelled in April due to the bad weather - It will be round 3 of the Slow Pete Series The track is wood mulch covered and is at present in good condition, the woodland sections are at present tacky so should be good by the weekend The track for the most part is drying all the time so should be in top condition by Sunday Just to note we are proposing that the event at Hope on the 3^rd June will now be a Rock Oil/Club Champs round and a combined Slow Pete round This will get us back on schedule with all the different Championships and we will run for 3 hours The Long Compton date for the Slow Pete will now be moved subject to the Farmer’s diary I am sorry if any of the changes don’t suit everybody but we have to make changes to try and get back on track We are not the only Club that is in this situation I am sure but hopefully the weather will settle down and we can get back to normal Anyone booked in for the original Hope event will be contacted today to see if you would like to go to Ashby ____________________________________ Round 3 Slow Pete Series - Open Meeting Ashby Moto Park – Ashby De La Zouch – Leicestershire – LE65 1SD Situated off A42 Junction 13. Hi Wendy and Peter Paul and I woke up on Sunday to discover our garage door had been smashed in (including the metal roller shutters) and yes, all of our bikes and kit had been stolen again. Seems too much of a coincidence that its nearly exactly a year on. Am very concerned that we will now be classed as uninsurable and obviously we can’t afford to not have them without being covered so we might be forced into a position where we can’t have any off road bikes (they left the R6, RR and Malcs Triumph sat there). Plus, the house was surrounded by TV channel vans, police and emergency services as a young boy and his father were swept away in the river c. 20 yds away and they were trying to recover the bodies until the early hours.
