ROCK OIL AMCA
Hare 'n' Hound Rnd 2 Somerley Park Ringwood
1st overall southern
counties enduro club at somerley park which is a part of the
new forest in ringwood hampshire, the circuit consisted
of over a 5 mile lap of trees!! a loose loamy
soil with a fair amount of sand, a few fast stoney
straights technical ups and downs and a few bike swallowing
ditches and bogs thrown in for good measure!!
the flag dropped! my start was good around the first corner i was
running in 4th place i charged hard coming bar to bar a couple of
times to take the lead within the first few corners, i got
straight into a good rythm and began pulling away, on lap three
there was a hold up at the timing lane so i sat and waited my turn
knowing i had around a 30second to a minute lead over second
place when all of a sudden 2nd place had que jumped and sat on my
back wheel after a few choice words i got my head down again and
gapped the chasing pack which i had already done previously on the
opening laps, at the half way stage of the 3 hour race i came in
for fuel a quick bite of a jaffa cake bar and was off again,
i had stretched out a 3minute lead by this time and was riding
smooth and in control ( for once haha ) i stopped briefly again
to get a track marshall for a rider who sparked himself clean out
on a whooped out section of the track!! i started to get dehydrated
towards the end as my camelback had split and kept my rear fender
more hydrated than me!!! i rode safe for the last half an
hour and still managed to maintain a plus 2minute lead over
2nd place.
a good day at the track all in all bike was great suspension was
perfect and the hour in the garage sharpening the footpegs with a
needle file made sure i was glued to the pegs and not around them
trees!!!
iv gotta dedicate this race to my grandad carter who lived next
door to me and has supported me through my racing who passed
away early sunday morning, i was not told untill i returned home
as my mum and dad didnt want to make it difficult for me on race
day! this ones for you!!!! RIP 05/04/2009:

Hare 'n' Hound Rnd 1 Shuckburgh Hall Daventry
1st overall
got off to a mega start by getting the lead straight away which
gave me a great advantage going into the dense dark slippery
woods!! with the first lap complete i took full advantage of a
clear track and had over a minute advantage over the nearest
rival which i increased to over a 10 minute lead by the end of the
3 hour duration! the day went amazingly well in the results aspect
but my riding seemed shocking to say the least! i felt really bad
and came off a few more times than i would of liked to!! haha
suppose i gotta take the rough with the smooth!! 12/04/2009:

X Country Rnd 2 Stone Staffs
5th overall 2PRO lites class
the weather was
perfect and after a medioca start i was running around top 20. i
pushed hard for the first lap after a few aggressive manouvres and
worked his way into 11th, with arm pump setting in i had to relax
for a lap which by then the lead group had gapped me. Getting back
on form picking riders off which seemed to boost my confidence as
the race went on, at the half way stage i was 9th overall and
third in the pro lites class so had to work harder if i was going
to get a better result! After more perseverance i found myself up
to 6th but still 3rd in the lites class, as i caught a glimpse of
Lee Edmondson on the last but one lap who has been on top form
lately! With Edmondson 30secs ahead he had a taste for 5th place,
so he made a charge and a successful pass! He harassed me
for the rest of the final lap but he managed to stay upright pass
the lapped riders cleanly and then pull away to finish a
comfortable 5th overall and 2nd in the pro lites class!
"Im absolutley chuffed with as only 4 weeks ago i was nursing
my arm which i injured the saturday before gbxc round 1!! luckily
there are drop rounds in the series which now stands me in good
stead! thanks everyone for all your help and speak to you all
soon."

British Enduro Championship Rnd 1 Muntjac
9th overall 3rd e1 4stroke class
i am happy with my result as i had 3 not so good special tests as
my first was slow my second i crashed and my third was being held
up by a fallen rider, i managed to stay clean on the tight time
check which was the saviour to my results as only 10 out of the
large capacity championship class were able to clean the time!!
thanks to all helpers and sponsors!
